North Coast TAFE with some 30,000 students and 2,400 part time and full time staff operating over 17 campuses consume 44,000 Kilolitres of water costing over $200K per annum. Water is a big expense and will continue to rise.
Over the past decade we have engaged Watersave Australia/SUMS to monitor all our water meters with data loggers and the SUMS™ portal which detects leaks remotely within a couple of days ensuring the leak is communicated, diagnosed and rectified promptly. In the past 12 months the data loggers have discovered leaks at Great Lakes and our Taree campuses which if left undetected until the quarterly accounts arrived would have cost us in the hip pocket whilst wasting a precious resource. In striving for sustainability across our campuses we have found to manage our resources and utilities we require effective monitoring systems to ensure we can respond quickly to changed conditions and quantify implemented practice changes.
